Toys for Tots Benefit Concert
starring Alexis Grace
In partnership with Local24, CW30, Sonic Restaurants, and the Memphis Redbirds, Victory University invites you to join us on Friday, December 13th, at 7:30 p.m. for our 2nd Annual Toys for Tots Benefit Concert.
Performing and starring in the concert is local singing sensation Alexis Grace, a star in the Memphis music scene who you may recognize from Season 8 of American Idol. She also appears daily on Q107.5 FM. With her band she will be performing some of her own original music, some top hits, and a few Christmas songs.
Admission at the door is $10, which will be turned into a Toys-R-Us gift card, or a new unwrapped toy to be used for Toys for Tots. (General admission seating available in the approximately 1,200 seat Virgil L. Iles Auditorium on Victory University’s campus.)
Joyce Peterson and Cameron Harper from ABC Local24 and CW30 will be special guests of the program.
WATN/WLMT-TV Vice President and General Manager, Ardyth Diercks said, “We are overjoyed to unveil this special initiative. Local 24 and CW 30 are dedicated to serving our community and ‘Local Cares’ is a further extension of our commitment. There is no better program to launch ‘Local Cares’ than ‘Toys for Tots.’ For years the US Marine Corps Reserve has been collecting donations and has distributed more than 469 million toys to over 216 million less fortunate children. ‘Local Cares’ is honored to be the official media outlet and we look forward to helping brighten the holidays of children here in the Mid South.”
Victory University’s Kenneth Kinney says, “We are elated to continue to serve the community with such great partners as Local24, CW30, Sonic, and the Memphis Redbirds. Alexis makes this a phenomenal concert event and it is an honor to serve ‘Toys for Tots’ and again show how much we care about the local community.”
Alexis Grace says, “This is going to be such a fun event to be a part of and I am more than thrilled to not only be involved but perform as well!”
“We are honored to once again work with Toys for Tots this holiday season,” said Redbirds Director of Marketing Erin O’Donnell. “It is very uplifting to have the opportunity to partner with Victory University, Local24 and CW 30 while helping provide a better holiday season for many local kids that are less fortunate.”
Bobby Solberg, owner of Solberg Group Sonic Drive-ins, says, “Sonic has always been a dedicated member of the Mid South community and we are proud to partner with ‘Local Cares’ for this season’s ‘Toys for Tots’ program. We encourage all our customers to participate and help make this a joyful season for those less fortunate children in our area.”
HM1 EmanuelaSpeal, Toys for Tots coordinator for Memphis, says “We want to thank all our supporters with this year’s Toys for Tots Campaign. We look forward to the Toys for Tots Concert with Alexis Grace that has been put together by Mr. Kinney with Victory University and many others supporters. The Toys for Tots program is a success because the community gets involved, making a child’s Christmas dream come true by donating toys.”
Every child deserves a Christmas!
